The Role of Technology in Enhancing English Language Learning: A Study of Digital Tools in the ELT Classroom

Abstract

This paper examines the impact of technology in English Language Teaching (ELT) and its role in enhancing student engagement and language learning outcomes. By focusing on key digital tools such as language learning applications, online platforms, and interactive media, the study explores how these technologies are integrated into modern ELT classrooms. A mixed-methods approach, including surveys and interviews with educators and learners, highlights both the advantages and challenges associated with using technology to teach English. Findings reveal that technology supports personalized learning and allows students to practice language skills such as speaking, listening, reading, and writing in a more dynamic and interactive manner. However, the research also underscores that the success of technology in ELT depends significantly on how it is used within the teaching framework and the resources available to both students and educators.
