Etiopathological Understanding Of MEDO Dushti In Polycystic Ovary Syndrome.

Abstract

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a heterogeneous clinical condition with reproductive, metabolic, and psychological features presenting across the life span of women. In Ayurvedic literature, though PCOS is not explicitly mentioned, similar symptoms are scattered across various contexts. Many symptoms associated with PCOS, such as acne, obesity, and type 2 diabetes mellitus, are identical to those described in Medo Dushti Lakshana. Additionally, the causes of Medo Dushti are similar to those proposed for PCOS. Therefore, an attempt was made to study the role of Medo Dushti in PCOS.
